I've placed to-go orders for Sulungtang several times here, and it's always tasted yummy and authentic, except today. The front-of-house worker took off the charge because I called after pick-up to say that the soup color looked off (it was brown when it's supposed to be milky white - see photo). I could also taste soy. She said they marinate the beef slices with sauce, and I said I couldn't eat gluten because of a sensitivity (wheat is usually an ingredient of soy-based sauces). All other times I've gotten orders here, the soup has been milky white - as it should be. *Just know that if your Sulungtang is not a creamy white color, it's not authentic! The beef pieces aren't supposed to be marinated either, otherwise, call the dish another name. She explained that if you don't want sauce, I'd have to request to leave it off(??). Wondering if it was just an off day because the usual cook was not there? Traditional Sulungtang does not have soy sauce in it. Now that I think about it, other things were missing. They usually include a sweet potato clear noodle, to go with the soup. And come to think of it, they've never included chopped green onion topping, nor a container of salt,

This was our fourth visit here for dinner with a family of five. The food has consistently been fresh, flavorful, and enjoyable, which is why we kept coming back. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the service. Throughout the entire meal, our waitress appeared annoyed and gave off the impression that serving us was an inconvenience. I initially thought it might just be my perception, but I asked the rest of my family afterward, and they all felt the same way. For a dinner bill of approximately $280, I expect a much higher level of customer service. Good food is important, but so is how customers are treated. There are plenty of restaurants in the area offering both excellent food and friendly, attentive service at this price point. While the kitchen continues to do a great job, the service on this visit was disappointing enough that we’ll likely consider other options in the future.

we order the pork special combo, it was enough meat and more for 2 people - the spicy cucumber banchan & kimchi was sweet and spicy, refreshing! not too spicy or too fermented! - the kimchi stew was too sour, didn't like 👎 maybe will try the soy stew next time - the pork cuts are very thinly slice, cook fast and is delicious 5⭐️ service is ok. we had to ask for more water multiple times, the music is good, not too loud & perfectly intimate for bbq 👍 i'd come back!

I ordered the beef combo, but the chadolbagi was tough and the bulgogi was too sweet. It's not something I'd want to eat again. The mul naengmyeon was okay. The lunch menu is inexpensive, so I'll probably try it next time.

Hondori has been my favorite Korean restaurant outside of Koreatown since they opened. They have the best lunch specials for Korean soups, and I find myself always wanting to come here for lunch or get takeout. Everything on their menu is good. I’ve tried their BBQ and several other dishes. My favorites are the dolsot bibimbap, samgyetang, and donkatsu. If you find yourself in Arcadia and craving Korean food, this is the place. Parking is never a problem, as there is plenty of parking in the mall. Service is generally good, but it can get busy at times, so the wait may be slow. The restaurant is spacious, and they even use robots to bring out food, especially for Korean BBQ orders. It’s quite fun to watch the robots running around. All in all, come here for lunch — you won’t regret it.
